Lil Wayne delivers solid album to fans
It has been seven years.

371 weeks.
85 months.
Or 62486 hours since Lil Wayne's last album was released (Tha Carter IV).
A new fresh album that has been in the works for seven years was due from the New Orleans native. Fans have been waiting on the edge of their seats for Lil Wayne’s next big reveal.
Wayne has had his fair share of problems in the past. When he was just two years old, Wayne’s parents divorced and his father permanently abandoned the family. He started rapping at age eight, and continued to work with his gift until Cash Money Records took him under their wing and helped him produce his first song “The Block is Hot” at just 16 years of age.
The reason it took Wayne so long to release Tha Carter V was due to label issues and having to update old music with the times. “Birdman,” owner of Cash Money Records would not allow Wayne to release his album for unknown reasons. Over the summer the two sorted things out and now Wayne is the sole owner of Cash Money Records.
XXXTentacion also made an appearance in the new album. The Florida native died to a gunshot wound in June at a motorcycle dealership. After his death, the rap community had a overwhelming depression but also inspiration looming over it since. Fans began to start rallies in honor of Wayne’s name and the work he did. He appeared on the second song of the album “Don't Cry” which talks about death.
Songs in the album such as “I Love You Dwayne,” “Dedicate,” “Can’t Be Broken,” “What About Me” and “Problems” all talk about Wayne’s childhood and the problems he faced growing up in a very poor neighborhood.
His style of rap has always been the same, alternative hip-hop mixed with R&B. Occasionally he throws a little soul and pop music. One of the best parts of the album is that it is very well balanced with the genres and types of music Wayne uses. Most people can agree on one thing, Lil Wayne never disappoints, no matter what genre he uses in his music.
Tha Carter V is a very good piece of work that has been in the works for over seven years.
