Great Follow-Up to a Strong Movie
On social media, you might have seen posts about the new movie to all the boys: P.S I still love you. This new hit movie is a sequel To All The Boys I've Loved Before. The movie starts off from where the first movie ended. In this movie the main character, Lara Jean, is trying to decide between her current boyfriend and another guy that she had a crush on many years ago. Throughout the movie she wonders if her boyfriend is truly the guy she should be with.
There are lots of arguments about if this movie lives up to the expectations of the first movie. The first film was definitely better than the second one. In the first, the suspense was much stronger because in the second movie it was very obvious what was going to happen in the end.
Another major thing that stood out to me in this movie was the acting. I could tell the two main characters definitely were struggling to express the emotions that their characters were supposed to feel. In the the first movie, the actors actually make one believe that they felt something for each other but in the second movie it was very obvious that they didn’t mean the things that they were saying.
The layout of the movie was good. It was the best way to make a sequel out of the first movie. It was also very clever to use one of the boys that Lara Jean had written to and to make him the main conflict in the story.
Another thing that really stood out is how the producer and director added side stories into the movie. One of my favorite side stories was how they showed the dad’s rising relationship with one of the neighbors. The film was really heart warming and went great with the theme of the movie.
\ The ending of the movie pleased many fans. I definitely was not upset with how it ended but it was very predictable on what was about to happen. Another negative aspect of the movie was the soundtrack. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the songs that they chose to be in the movie. It was not that the songs did not go along with the movie, they were not the best songs that have been produced.
Overall, this movie was a decent movie but it definitely did not live up to the expectation that the first movie set. If you are into movies with happy endings, then it would be a great idea to watch this movie but if you are more into movies where it is suspenseful throughout the movie on what is going to happen next, then this would not be the best movie to watch..
