Wreck-It-Ralph sequel gives the internet a whole new meaning

Ever wondered what the internet would be like as a world? The movie Ralph Breaks The Internet transforms the World Wide Web into a society where parts of the internet are personified into characters. Things like humans, pop up ads, and search engines are made into virtual characters to represent their functions.

The movie begins with the main characters Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Vanellope Von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman) heading out on an adventure to help Vanellope achieve her goal. Both of these characters are characters in video games and they live in an arcade where the characters in the game can switch over to other games and bond with one another. Because Ralph and Vanellope are both video game characters they both have unique abilities, like Vanellope's glitch and Ralph's super strength. Vanellope uses her glitch in her racing game Sugar Rush, to get ahead of her opponent and Ralph uses his strength to throw objects in Fix It Felix.

Vanellope was feeling discouraged about her troubles so Ralph tried to lift her spirits by taking her on a trip to the internet, which they do by traveling through a wifi router. The internet city has citizens that are represented through avatars to personify our society’s phones online. Many social media apps were recognized throughout the movie such as Twitter, Google, and Ebay. Disney added multiple mashups within the film, from Disney princesses to Star Wars characters. The humor component of the film was constant, using humor and pop culture topics for comedy. The film simplified aspects of the internet so that even kids could understand the situations, and with the futuristic style of the city it made it obvious that it was centered around technology.

Throughout the movie, Ralph works hard to help Vanellope but Vanellope is driven by her desires. She is persuaded by her dreams to be a racer and having no limit on her racing, but if she was to act on this dream she would leave behind her best friend. When Ralph finds out about her plans he is devastated and acts out of anger. His anger lead to the destruction of the internet and he soon had to realize the importance of Vanellope's dream in order to save the internet.

Ralph Breaks the Internet is a great comedic and family friendly movie, the humor is so creative, with some subtle adult jokes incorporated, that it can enjoyed by all ages. The throwback characters and the creativity in the movie is something you do not wanna miss.
