Softball takes advantage of their opportunities to grow
As spring rolls in, the sports are coming with it. Conditioning and tryouts are over with and now all the teams have started to practice nonstop. The softball team has been working very hard in the past few months and are getting prepared for their season ahead.
“[I am] stoked about the season ahead and looking forward to being with all my girls one last time before I graduate,” senior Paige Williamson said. “[It is] very important to me to help the girls strive to win this year.”
When one is apart of a team, they have to work together and help each other out to be the best team that they can be.
“[This season] we are working on being closer as a team so that when [we are] on the field everything will run smoother and easier,” sophomore Aubrey Clayton said. “We have a lot of room for improvement but [we all] continue to give 110% effort in practice so it will not take us very long to get where we need to be.”
This team is not just about working hard and determination, but also about making many memories with a group of people that one loves and supports.
“[I am] looking forward to watching myself as well as the team grow into more talented players and make memories together that [I will] be able to look back and smile on when [I am] older,” junior Kaysi Morgan said.
This season there is a new addition being made to the softball team that is very exciting for all players.
“We have added a JV team this year and [it is] a great opportunity for the underclassmen to play more and for us all as a team to learn about and play the game we love,” sophomore Ansley Vaughan said.
There is a lot that goes into being apart of this softball team like hard work, dedication, commitment, and effort that each and everyone one of these girls puts in.
“We are real competitive this season as the girls have been working hard on and off the field,” softball coach Alan Rigsbee said. “We are happy to have big numbers and in addition to this, be able to make a JV team.”
The girls on the softball team have put in all their best effort and have been working to the best of their ability over the past few weeks to bring home victories. Even though the season just began, the team is hard at work and determined to have a good year.
