Prom Committee is working hard to make NHS prom a Knight to remember
Prom has been known to be one of the best nights of a teenagers high school life. A night that will be looked back on years to come, an experience that many might even share with their children in the future. The Northern Prom Committee takes making this night as special as possible for students very seriously. This year the Prom Committee is headed by junior students exclusively, along with their adviser Tonisha Coburn.
“Being on prom committee is a big responsibility but it is so much fun to plan,” junior Christina Vannasing said. “Prom Committee is all about organizing a fun dance that will make your night memorable and enjoyable.”
Northern students are getting ready for their big night that is coming up very soon.
“I am super excited and I can not wait to get dressed up with my friends and take pictures,” junior Kaysi Mcdaniels said.
Prom Committee is so dedicated to making this night special for everyone that many of the plans they make are done through suggestions made by Northern students. For example every year there is a vote concerning what is the theme of prom this year.
“The theme is the Great Gatsby this year. It will be very magical and starry for everyone to enjoy,” junior Charlotte Pereira said.
Prom tickets will be sold by science teacher Tonisha Coburn in S-24 until April 5th.
“Tickets are $45 dollars but one benefit of being on the prom committee is getting a free ticket,” junior Emily Silvoy said. “Prom will be held at the Durham Convention center on April 13th of 2019.”
Prom committee is a big opportunity for juniors and a great privilege. Giving this opportunity to Northern students requires a lot of trust from the authority, which in this case is Ms. Coburn.
“Northerns prom committee is very creative this year and they are responsible enough to handle planning a prom,” Ms.Coburn said.
Prom committee is planning the 2019 prom for Northern high school and many of the students are looking forward to this big night that the committee has been planning.
