All Eyes are on the Top 5 NBA Draft Prospects
The madness is almost over with the NCAA tournament over with the final four here. The NBA draft is near and everyone is waiting to see the top picks with a heavy favorite being Zion Williamson, freshman forward from Duke. Zion has averaged 22.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this season at duke.
On the uprising, Murray State point guard “Ja” Morant, the explosive offense and ball handling skills has risen to the second best prospect in this year’s NBA draft. Murray State had a great run in the NCAA tournament, beating Marquette in the first round of 64. Morant had a triple double performance with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists. Then soon getting knocked out by Florida State after losing 90 to 60. Morant is a unbelievable point guard and will do great in the NBA.
The third best prospect is Duke freshman RJ Barrett. Coming from the outstanding class of Duke freshmen, RJ broke the freshman scoring record, taking down Marvin Bagley’s previous record. RJ has unbelievable scoring ability along with great finishes down low, which makes him a scoring threat to other opponents. Barrett averaging 22.6 points per game like his teammate Zion. RJ had the first ever triple double in Duke history.
Vanderbilt had a good freshman class which included the fourth best prospect in the ESPN draftcast point guard Darius Garland. He is a dynamic shooter with deep range ability and great defensive skills. he averaged 16.2 points per game and was ranked 15 in the ESPN 100 coming out of highschool, while participating in the McDonald's All-American game.
The fifth top five prospect is Jarrett Culver out of Texas Tech who also had an amazing run in the NCAA tournament, making the Final Four in Minneapolis. Averaging 18.9 points and 6.4 rebounds to add on to that. A long wingspan of six foot nine with great shoot changing and blocking plays.
There are so many great players in this year’s draft class is stacked with a lot of talent and the attention is on the NBA teams and fans are waiting to hear who is joining their team to help them wins games. Players may shock the world by getting drafted lower or higher than expected. The draft is nearing and the teams are ready to make player additions in order to help their franchise.
