This team has been working very hard in the past few months to prepare for the 2019 season. The NHS varsity volleyball team is now 7-4 in their season and are only aiming to become better.

“[Our main goal is to] stick together and win as [one big family] every game,” sophomore Anna Keeton said.

When one is apart of a team, they have to work together and help each other out to be the best team that they can be.

“The season is going well because our team is very close and we are very lucky to have such a passionate team,” junior Kalyn Hill said .

Training for the upcoming season comes in a variety of ways, all dependent on who the player is and what best prepares them.

The Lady Knights volleyball team huddled around the coaches.

“I definitely have by staying after practice and by going to clinics and putting in work in other places every by going to the gym,” junior Ava Kaestner said.

There are a lot that go into being a part of the NHS Volleyball team like hard work, dedication, commitment, and effort that each and everyone of these girls puts in.

“For our team to make it to playoffs we really need to put effort and energy into every game and practice we have,” junior Ashlyn Stone said. “We have loads of potential on our team and if we work hard we could be a lot more successful come out on top.”

In order to keep this energy alive, which is needed to make playoffs, sometimes the team has to have interesting traditions.

“We always love jamming out to music,” Keeton said.

Every team always wants the next season to be just as successful as the last, and for the volleyball team, things are already off to a great start in accomplishing this goal.

“As [we are] trying to comeback and have another successful season after losing some of our best players, we are doing so by winning over 500% of our games which puts us right on the mark this year for what we should be doing,” head coach Steven Barnes said. “Our off-season clinics and learning new strategies has made us be able to utilize our new players as well as the ones returning from last season.”

All members of the volleyball team have been working very hard in showing dedication toward the team to make this season the best one yet. The amount of effort being put in by each member shows that our Volleyball team is determined to make this season one to remember.
