Why College Applications are Stressful for Seniors

High school can be the best four years of one’s life but can also be the most stressful time for students. It is an unbalanced mixture of feelings ranging from stress and hard times to joyful memories. A confusing time to say the least, students must find who they are.

It is difficult to decide which year of high school is the most challenging with junior year being the most stressful in the class work aspect senior year definitely tops it. As a senior you face a lot of adversity when trying to find your way in life. One must decide what is best for them whether that be college or work. For seniors this is the harsh reality, many may put on a front and seem like they have things figured out, but no young adult has everything under control when it comes to their future.

If seniors do choose college, it comes with long nights spent on college applications and weeks of anticipation waiting for acceptance letters. Along with homework and other responsibilities students may hold. After all those things then you factor in the worst part of all senioritis. After 4 years of going to the same school many seniors face difficulties waking up on time, having motivation to go to class, or to do homework.

All these stressful times are harsh to put on young adults in their most influential years. Some may argue that it is good practice for real world situations but in the heat of the moment it creates a lot of pressure on seniors.

Senioritus is real and there are cases in which have detrimental effects on sleep schedules, time management and sanity. This can not be healthy to put an insane work load on our future.
